Lisa Shenoy

Lisa Shenoy is the Head Coach of the Los Gatos High School Badminton team, bringing over 10 years of coaching experience at both the varsity and JV levels. Throughout her coaching career, Lisa has developed a strong track record of success. Her long-term goal is to lead the team to a top 5 finish at the El Camino SCVAL League finals, while her short-term objectives focus on winning the DeAnza league title and helping individual players qualify for CCS and the Northern California State Championship. Under her guidance, the program emphasizes developing well-rounded student-athletes who excel on and off the court. Lisa instills core values such as respect, teamwork, dedication, commitment, and perseverance, ensuring that her players not only improve their badminton skills but also grow as individuals.

In terms of player development, Lisa focuses on key aspects such as conditioning, footwork, drills, teamwork, academics, and life skills. She aims to prepare her athletes for success both academically and athletically, with a strong emphasis on leadership and community service. Lisa holds NFHS credentials and is committed to ongoing professional development to stay updated with the latest coaching strategies. Her coaching philosophy aligns with her experience, which includes a long and successful playing career. Lisa has been involved in competitive badminton for over five decades, with notable achievements such as being ranked #1 in mixed doubles in Southern California in 1978 and 1979. She has competed at the regional, international, and senior national levels, earning a bronze medal in mixed doubles at the 1999 World Morning Cup in Taipei. In 2023, Lisa won the gold medal in mixed doubles at a senior international tournament, adding to her extensive list of accolades.

Beyond badminton, Lisa enjoys spending her time beach combing, playing golf, and participating in disc golf. Her dedication to the sport, both as a coach and former player, is a testament to her passion for badminton and her commitment to developing the next generation of athletes.
