She completed 20 of 28 passes for 255 yards and 3 TDs. Poised, accurate, and fearless. 💥 Maria, Mariaaaaa! Maria Sanchez had an insane pick-6 for 20 yards 🔥 💥 The night's most impressive run was Paige Purcell's 75-yard pick-6 🏈 🙌🏼 💥 And a dominant, ball-hawking performance by @sophie.riese2027 with 3 interceptions (the team's highest single-game total by a player this season), 131 receiving yards, 2 receiving touchdowns, and 1 rushing touchdown. BIG PLAYS ON BOTH SIDES OF THE BALL! Not gonna lie, LGHS came out slow in the first quarter, and Wilcox fought hard to keep us in check. But after halftime, the Wildcats found their rhythm, turned up the intensity - ready to win. Standouts of the game: 🏈 Frosh Hailey Arata showed off her shiftiness and elusiveness, hauling in 2 receiving TDs and adding 1 sack on defense in her second Varsity game. 🏈 Veteran @sophie.riese2027 had a huge night with 9 catches for 103 yards, plus 1 INT on defense. 🏈 The ever-dynamic Junior, paigepurcell2028, stepped into a role she doesn’t normally play at center and delivered when her team needed her most, finishing with 6 catches for 51 yards. 🎂 Birthday girl and Junior, @taylor.payne11, picked up a couple of birthday gifts from the Wilcox QB - 2 interceptions on defense. And who was that coming in to relieve QB @helenayounan2028? Junior Monica Leaverton in her second game post-ACL injury. Wildcats looked strong, cohesive, and determined to prove why we're never to be underestimated! #GirlsFlagFootball #Wildcats #Playmakers #Defense #Offense #Teamwork
