Ibet Allan
Ibet Allan brings a wealth of experience and passion for coaching to Los Gatos High School, where she serves as the Head Girls Cross Country Coach. Her coaching journey began as an Assistant Coach at RJ Fisher Middle School for Cross Country and Track and Field from 2021 to 2023. Ibet also served as an Assistant Coach for Los Gatos High School in both Cross Country and Track and Field during the same years. In 2024, she stepped into the role of Head Girls Coach for Cross Country.
Ibet is dedicated to creating a healthy, positive sports environment where athletes can achieve their personal best. She emphasizes gradual individual improvement and the development of life skills within a supportive team atmosphere.
Ibet holds a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology, with a thesis focused on Sports Psychology. She continuously enhances her coaching knowledge through various certifications, including:

Before her coaching career, Ibet was a national-level athlete in swimming, gymnastics, biathlon, and life-saving during high school. She was recognized as the Regional Sportswoman of the Year and qualified for the World Championships in life-saving at just sixteen. As an adult runner, she has achieved remarkable success, including:
- Bronze medalist at the World Masters Championships in the half marathon (representing South Africa, 2018)
- Dipsea Black Shirt Holder (3 years)
- Winner of the San Francisco Half Marathon (open division, masters runner, 2018)
- Winner of the Narragansett Half Marathon
- USATF PA Comped Athlete for Cross Country
- 5km PR of 17:40 (at age 38)
- Marathon PR of 2:52 (at age 43)
Outside of coaching and athletics, Ibet enjoys a variety of hobbies, including traveling to new scenic places, cooking and baking, mountain biking, kayaking, yoga, reading, board games, exploring art galleries, adventure, trail running, and paddle boarding.
She finds joy in the simple pleasures of life: the smell of the ocean, the sounds of a saxophone or guitar, the relaxation of a Thai massage, and savoring a cup of morning coffee.
Ibet is supported by her wonderful husband, Grant, and their two sons, Finn and Casey, who keep life exciting and dynamic. They share their home with two female cats, Adeline and Coraline.
