Once again, Los Gatos used the "big inning" formula Thursday, scoring 5 runs in the second and 4 more in the sixth to beat Gunn 11-1 and improve to 3-0 in DeAnza League play.

Grace Tucker, Annika Norquist and Robyn Young all had three hits, with Tucker and Young each driving in three runs. Olivia Sickels launched her second home run of the season over the left-center field fence.

Danica DeSantis hurled six innings, allowing one run on three hits while striking out seven. She walked just one hitter despite having to throw the first two innings in a steady light rain that made the softball tough to grip.

The Cats rapped out 15 hits, including singles by Addie Sorto, Kylynne Cook, Keira Kelly, Sophia Krish and Ria Sharma.

After dropping its first three nonleague games, Los Gatos has now won six straight to improve to 6-3 overall entering Saturday's Los Gatos-Westmont Tournament. The Cats will play Carlmont at 3:30 p.m. and Leigh at 5:15 p.m.
