A big six-run top of the first, and five perfect innings in the circle by Ava Norquist, propelled Los Gatos' varsity softball team to an 11-0 win at Los Altos Tuesday.

Norquist tossed five perfect innings, striking out 10. She also had a bases-loaded three-run double in the top of the first.

Olivia Sickels had three hits and scored twice, and Lily Young had two hits and scored twice.

Sickels opened the game by drawing a walk and promptly stealing second. Addie Sorto followed with a walk, and Grace Tucker dropped down a perfect bunt for a base hit to load the bases. Ava Norquist then ripped a line drive to right-center field to clear the bases.

After Annika Norquist flew out to the wall in center field, Young doubled down the left-field line to bring home Kylynne Cook, who was running for Norquist. With two outs, Keira Kelly singled Young to third, and Ria Sharma walked to load the bases. Up stepped Sickels for the second time in the inning, and she ripped a double to wall in left center to score two more runs.

The Cats added five more runs in the fourth inning when Annika Norquist walked with one out and Kendall Feichtmeir ran for her. Lily Young singled Feichtmeir to second, and Feichtmeir moved to third on a wild pitch. Tessa Lilienstein singled home a run, with another scoring on Kelly's ground out. Sharma singled home a run and moved to second on Sickel's single. Robyn Young reached on an error to score Sharma, and Sickels scored when Tucker reached on an error.

Los Gatos will be back in action Thursday when they host Gunn in DeAnza League play. Los Gatos will then play Carlmont and Leigh on Saturday in the first round of the Los Gatos-Westmont Varsity Softball Tournament.
